My Secret Weapons

This is me, merrily running through the Magic Kingdom in a sparkly rainbow skirt. It’s always an incredible experience and every time has been filled with different emotions for me.

While this last race was great, it hasn’t always been full of magic and Pixie Dust. The last time I ran this race in 2014, I was sure it would be my last. I was totally out of shape, I just has a miscarriage and I was hating every second of that run. I was not mentally or physically in a good place.

Fast-forward 3 years later and I’m back running through my happy place. Things couldn’t have been more different. I am comfortable in my skin. I am healthy. I am strong. I am happy.

I need to be my best self not just for me, but for my family. I unapologetically make myself a priority.  I make time to exercise because it makes me stronger. I use daily mantras and meditation to keep me grounded. I found clean nutritional supplements to help fuel my body. I found a supportive group of people who lift me up every day.

Is every day great? Nope. In fact, some days are really fucking hard. Life is a long, windy, bumpy road and thankfully I have found some incredible tools to help me along the way. Help doesn’t make us weak, it makes us better, and we all need it.

I’ve put together a few of my secret weapons that I utilize on a daily basis to help keep me focused, healthy and grounded. I hope this list helps to inspire and help you on your journey.

Find your secret weapons, build your arsenal and kick ass. You deserve it…we all deserve it.

Clean Nutrition

It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with this nutrition line. I kind of talk about it a lot. But when something makes you feel great, you just want to share it with everyone!

I rely on these products every day to give me energy, fight inflammation, recover from difficult workouts, the list goes on and on. They have been an essential part in helping me look and feel my best.

Bullet Journaling

I’m a list kind of girl. I used to have lists all over the place and never actually finished many of the projects that I started. I love Bullet Journaling has allowed me to create my own system.

If you’re never heard of bullet journaling, here are the basics. From there, just Google “Bullet Journal” and you can go down the crazy internet wormhole of layouts, etc…

Meditation

Meditation was something I always wanted to do, but never thought I was capable of doing. My mind is always going a million miles an hour and the thought of quieting it seemed daunting. Sound familiar?

Enter Rebekah Borucki‘s method of 4-minute mantra meditation. This quick and easy practice has helped ease my anxiety, boost my self esteem and refocus my mind. It can be fit into my busiest days with a rambunctious toddler on my hands.

Personal Growth

Have you ever read a book that feels like the author is speaking directly to you? That was every minute of You Are a Badass for me.

This little gem is jam packed with insight, inspiring stories, easy to digest advice and simple exercises to kick those doubting thoughts to the curb and help you create the life you’ve been dreaming of. All of this is tied together with Jen Sincero’s wonderful humor and wit. I highly recommend the audio version to get the full effect

Support

I’ve always been very independent, which probably stems from being an only child. However, most of the time this backfires for me. “No man is an island,” right?

I am lucky to have found an incredible group of people who I get to work with and hang out with (on the Internets!) on a daily basis. They provide me with support, encouragement, knowledge, inspiration. We are a unique “tribe” of individuals who are passionate about health & wellness, helping others and finding joy in life. They make me smile every day.

Wellness

When my son had his first cold at only a few months old, I was looking for a natural solution to combat his symptoms. It was around this time that a friend introduced me to essential oils and I have been obsessed every since. The natural healing and restorative power of just a few drops of oil is quite incredible and it is something we now heavily rely on.

Whether it’s to help with my seasonal allergies, help us sleep more peacefully, boost our immune system during cold & flu season, or simply boost the mood in air, these oils are the solution. Plus, I feel safe using them in my home and on my son because they are free of chemical and toxins…yay!
